Since I was young my parents always encouraged my sister and I to stay active through sports and activities that made us happy. In high school I played field hockey and lacrosse, where I learned a lot about getting in shape. (Especially those 50 yard sprints in field hockey! 📷🏃🏻♀️)
Fast forward to my adult life where I began running. I have run countless miles in my adulthood training for Broad Street Runs and half marathons. Don’t get me wrong, I love running (especially when I’m accompanied by my running buddy sister 📷👯) but something was missing. In June I went out of my comfort zone and joined a crossfit gym. I traded running long distances in hopes of dropping pounds for lifting and becoming strong. In my classes I’m constantly surrounded by encouraging gym members, which is one of the reasons I come back time and time again.
In the past four months I’ve managed to successfully get some double-unders, conquer my fear of box jumps and deadlift 200lbs. I’m glad I took the chance to try something new. Crossfit Kanna has tossed a match into my fitness fire… so get ready, it’s about to get hot in here! 📷🔥📷
