Lauren grew up in Northeast Philadelphia playing a variety of sports throughout grade school and high school. She attended Widener University where she was a four-year letter winner on the women’s soccer team. After graduation she wanted to remain active and stay in shape so she joined her first globo gym and bounced around on all of the different machines for many years without really knowing what to do that would get results.
In 2014 she came across a video of a CrossFit workout online, which she now knows was a video from the CrossFit Open that year. From that point on it was all she talked about and was continuously Googling things to try at her gym. She was way too intimidated to go check out an official CrossFit box on her own. For her birthday the following year, her fiancé (now husband) who was probably tired of hearing her talk about CrossFit, bought her a trial membership at a local box as a birthday present. It ended up being one of the best gifts that she has ever received. It forced her to get over her fear and walk through those doors which changed her life. It did not take long for Lauren to fall in love with the sport and the community.
Today, Lauren is a CF-L1 Coach who loves sharing her passion for the sport with others. There is no better feeling to her than seeing someone become a better version of themselves through CrossFit.
Outside of the gym, Lauren enjoys spending time with her family; summertime at the beach; cooking; bike riding; and outdoor activities.
