Mike grew up in Bucks County playing soccer, wrestling, hockey, and spent a few years boxing. During high school and college, Mike went to the gym regularly, but mainly did the “Bro” workouts which included a lot of bicep curls, bench press, and tricep extensions. Yes, he was “that guy.”
After high school, Mike went to West Chester University and studied Exercise Science where he immediately found that he had a passion for biomechanics. He started learning olympic lifts and trained sports teams with the intent to decrease the risk of injury and improve athletic performance.
During his final year at WCU, Mike took his first CrossFit class and was completely humbled! The owner explained to Mike the definition of CrossFit and the science behind what makes it unique. Mike was beyond intrigued and from that point on he was on a mission to constantly get out of his comfort zone, grow as an athlete, and coach and learn as much as possible. He has a passion to share his experience and knowledge with others.
Fun fact: After being a DJ for 11 years and seeing over 500 weddings, Mike never saw anyone slip or fall….until his own wedding (see photo)!
Mike has been a CrossFit coach since 2012 and never wants to stop coaching!
