Donna has been here for much of our journey – her daughter (Kelly) and son-in-law (Matt) had been two of our Founding Members and Donna joined them at our Grand Opening. During our raffle giveaways, she won a free Base Camp package and joined! Since then, Donna has worked incredibly hard in the gym, not to mention also running around with two (soon to be 3) grand kids, and helping run the local Boys and Girls Club. Recently, Donna jumped on a 20-inch box – something that seemed impossible when she joined! Donna has always been supportive of the Kanna community and is a friendly face in the gym always ready for a good laugh and to cheer others on. Congratulations, Donna!

When did you start CF?
What are your favorite numbers and why?
14, 17, 22 (Bob, Kelly, Chrissy’s bdays)
What CF movements do you like?
Squats out of the rack, deadlifts, KB swings, box jumps
What CF movements do you dislike?
Burpees, bike, long runs
What sports or fitness things did you do before CF?
cardio and weight lifting 4-5 times a week
How did you find CF? What was your first workout?
Matt joined and convinced me to give it a try! One of my first workouts included deadlifting.
What’s your favorite thing about CF?
The instruction and support of the Kanna coaches, the encouragement of fellow members and the family atmosphere. Also, everyone is always willing to lend a hand when we need help at the Boys & Girls Club!
What are your hobbies?
I love cooking and crafting!
What’s something most people don’t know about you?
Learned to swim when I was 50! Never too old to learn!
What PRs or accomplishments are you most proud of?
20″ box jump!
What’s on your CF bucket list?
Rope climb and at least one pull up!
What’s on your general bucket list?
Road trip around the country, rope climb and at least one pull up!
What advice do you have for new (or experienced!) CrossFitters?
Don’t be intimidated!

How does one become Member of the Month? By embodying the mission of Kanna Fitness of Learning, Working Hard, and Having Fun. By contributing to the community and supporting others in and out of the workout. By being open to coaching and improving oneself for the sake of being better, not to “win” the workout. By just generally being a good person and having a positive attitude. And a lot more, but you get the idea!
